Location: Corby with UK and occasional NI travel.

Salary: up to £60,000 + car allowance
 
Working pattern: Site based

HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for an Environmental Sustainability Manager to work for a leading UK food manufacturer.
 
The role will be focused on leading the development and implementation of strategies that drive operational sustainability, minimise environmental impact, and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and best practices across the organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of company-wide sustainability strategies and plans to ensure operations meet future legal and customer standards.
• Instil a culture of sustainability across teams by promoting innovative practices and inspiring new approaches to everyday work.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term environmental goals and targets, focusing on areas such as planet, product, and people.
• Oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of environmental risks, ensuring robust compliance with UK legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Design clear response plans for environmental incidents and maintain the organisation’s readiness and competence in environmental matters.
• Manage timely and accurate reporting of sustainability KPIs—including carbon emissions, water usage, waste, and packaging metrics—for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop improvement roadmaps for crucial resources, with a focus on reducing carbon footprint and advancing environmental performance.
• Build engagement across all levels of the organisation and foster collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers to drive sustainability improvements.
• Support change initiatives that enable the business to make environmentally informed decisions and progress towards a more sustainable future.

 
Essential Experience:

• Significant experience in a similar sustainability or environmental management position, ideally within a manufacturing or operational setting.
• Proven track record of delivering successful sustainability strategies, compliance, and reporting against environmental targets and KPIs.
• Solid knowledge of UK environmental legislation, risk assessment processes, and incident management.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and present solutions at all organisational levels.
